Antique Furniture Auction

I have a great antique furniture auction going on right now! I couldn't believe how really cool these items were! The Victorian couch is one of my favorites!! The detailed carvings on a lot of these pieces....out of this world! I've really enjoyed working with this furniture and seeing all the unique pieces! The bidding ends Wednesday, March 24 at 9:00 PM.

Interesting Finds at Chicagoland Petroleum & Advertising Show

Aumann Auctions attended the 2010, Spring Chicagoland Petroleum Show. We saw many familiar faces, and quite a few new ones. Attendance was up, due in part by a new advertising campaign, by the show's hosts. We enjoyed visiting with many of the vendors and collectors. Jim Potts, at www.oldgas.com setup next to us. He had a nice selection of reference books for the veteran petroliana collector or those just starting out.
There was a wide variety of items including pumps, globes, signs, neons, and cans. One interesting globe we saw this year, was a gold and red crown combination in the booth next to us. This globe was used on a side by side gold and red crown pump. Fairly rare, this particular example was in good condition with original paint. It was priced at $1,100 and it sold sometime during the show on Sunday. Proving once again good items command good prices and sell.
We also saw an unusual Wayne 60 Pump with clock face and narrow base. This pump appeared to be factory. Although not in restored condition, was priced at $1,675 and did not sell as far as we know. Was a nice, great original example of a fairly rare pump.
As always we enjoyed the show, visiting with everyone, seeing new faces, unusual items and look forward to attending the fall Chicagoland Petroleum & Advertising Show. Thanks to Tim and Kevin and their families for hosting a great show!

2010 1st Quarter Coin & Currency Auction

We have completed the catalog for our latest Coin and Currency Auction March 13th at Aumann Auction Center in Nokomis Il 62075.

There are 450 Lots of high quality Coins featuring Carson City Morgan Dollars, Bust halfs, Walking Libertys, Barber Dimes, plus some great Currency.

The largest portion of this Auction came from a Ohio Estate, this gentleman passed away in 1979 and his collection was stored in a closet until it came to us. Boy did we find some dandy coins.

Spring Petroliana Show at Peotone

We are looking forward to attending the show this spring to visit with our friends, old and new. It is always interesting to view the large variety of signs, memrobillia and collectables! This year we will be bringing Dan, our marketing and media director, to gain footage of vendors and collectors. Hope to see you at the show!

Aumann Auctions Inc. at HAH Valentine benefit dinner

Love is in the air..........

This Saturday we attended the Hillsboro Area Hospital Valentine's Dinner at the KC Hall in Taylor Springs. It was a great time with great food and company. The dinner was catered by Milano's Catering Service. Greek salad, prime rib, stuffed chicken, potatoes and greenbeans. It was delicious...Kurt even got Aaron another piece of prime rib. I think Becky was jealous.

After dinner Kurt started the live auction. It really is entertaining to watch auctioneers do their "thing". He joked if anyone out in the crowd had a single granddaughter or niece they would like to hook Aaron up with.

We all love doing benefit auctions like this one. It's a great way to lend our services to a great cause. Plus, it helps us educate the public about the auction industry and about the great service we can provide. They truely are events and not just auctions anymore.

I was high bidder on 4 box seats to a St. Louis Cardinal's game. Happy Valentine's Day to me!!! I can't wait to that. I was out bid on the other 10 items but that's okay. It was all for a good cause.

I can't wait till next year:)

Kilton Land Auction Brings in $10 Million

Kilton Auction round two was another success with over 2000 acres of recreational land and over 1000 acres of farmland selling at an average of $3300 per acre. Everyone's Leaving us for Indiana

It's the Wednesday before the Gary Parker Auction and everyone is getting ready to leave. Kurt is onsite...probabably making out his wish list. LOL. Mark, Aaron, Dan and intern Dan left this morning and should arrive there around 5pm tonight. Nelson, Karen, Becky and Susan will be leaving soon. Last crew leaves tomorrow morning at 6am. It will be really quite around here. Wish I could be going but too much to do around here and at home. There is all sorts of buzz about this auction. I'm sure we'll have a lot of international guests. I love the old steam tractors. The size and the sounds amaze me!!!

The literature for Friday's auction are like works of art. They just don't make stuff like they used to:(

I also can't believe that Thanksgiving is only 5 weeks away. Even though I only work that sale every other year, it's one of my favorites. I love the tractors, the people and the holiday. Plus, I went shopping on Black Friday last year and it wasn't all that great. I can wait a few days.
